# Arvin
> Arvin is a customer-service assistant for websites. Give it your website address and it reads your pages, then answers your customers from them — citing the page it used, and saying it does not know when your pages do not cover something.
- mission
- Get Arvin on your website and make your website ready in just one tap.
- category
- Customer service assistants for websites
- pricing
- 400 free credits to start; no card payment yet
- install
- one script tag before </body>
## How it works
- 1. Enter your website — Arvin finds your sitemap, picks the pages that matter — about, services, FAQ, policies — and reads them. Up to 40 pages. Big platforms and marketplaces are turned away; this is for your own site.
- 2. Try it — Ask it what a customer would ask. Every answer shows which page it came from, so you can check it by eye. Missing something? Paste in a price list or a policy.
- 3. Paste one line — Copy the script tag into your site — Shopify, WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, anything. The dashboard tells you when it has seen the tag load on your domain.
## For business owners: You run the place. It answers the phone.
- - Nothing to write: it is named after your business and reads your pages on its own.
- - Change the greeting and the button text. That is the whole settings page.
- - It never invents a price, an opening time or a policy. If it is not on your site, it says so.
- - Visitors who want a person leave their details; you get them on a simple board.
- - Customers can book an appointment inside the chat, from times you actually have free.
## For builders and agencies: Every client in one place, with the controls you actually want.
- - Switch between clients from the top of the sidebar; each keeps its own sources, tokens and settings.
- - Developer mode shows the prompt, the model tier, the allow-listed domains and the token.
- - A public API for the widget and a management API for everything else, with curl examples in the dashboard.
- - Tokens are locked to the client's domain by default, so a copied tag does nothing elsewhere.
## How it handles your data
- - Grounded, with receipts — Facts come only from a search of your own pages, and each reply cites the page it used.
- - One business per assistant — Every assistant lives inside its own business. There is no query in the system that can reach another business's pages.
- - A token that can only chat — The token in the script tag starts conversations and nothing else — it cannot read your sources or settings, and it only works on your domain.
- - Pages behind a login stay private — Arvin reads what a visitor could read. Nothing else is fetched, and private addresses are refused outright.
- - Abuse is filtered first — "Ignore your instructions" and "show me other customers" are classified before any search runs.
- - Fixes reach every site at once — The script is served fresh on every page load, so an improvement is on your site the next time someone visits.
## Questions and answers
### What is Arvin?
Arvin is a customer-service assistant for websites. You give it your website address, it reads your public pages, and it answers your visitors’ questions from them. Each answer cites the page it came from, and when your pages do not cover something it says so instead of guessing.
### How long does it take to set up?
About a minute. You enter your website address, Arvin reads up to 40 of your pages, and you paste one line of code into your site. There is no prompt to write and no model to choose.
### How do I add Arvin to my website?
Paste a single script tag before the closing body tag of your template. It works on Shopify, WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, Webflow and any hand-built site. The dashboard confirms when it has seen the tag load on your domain.
### Will it make things up about my business?
No. It answers only from your own pages, and a search result covering the same general topic is not treated as an answer to a specific question. If you have not published a price, an opening time or a policy, it says it does not have that detail and offers to pass the question on.
### What does Arvin cost?
Every business starts with 400 free credits, which is roughly 80 answered questions plus reading your whole website. Answering a question costs a few credits; reading your site costs about four in total. Card payment is not available yet — credits are added with a code.
### Can Arvin book appointments?
Yes. If you turn booking on, the assistant shows a calendar inside the chat. The visitor picks a day and a time from what is genuinely free, then leaves a name and email. You set your hours, appointment length, notice period and how far ahead people can book. It can connect to Google Calendar so your existing commitments block times.
### Can Arvin collect leads?
Yes. When a visitor wants a person, the assistant asks for their name and a way to reach them. They appear on a board in your dashboard with four columns: new, contacted, won and lost.
### Can I answer a customer myself?
Yes. Your dashboard shows every conversation as it happens, including who is on your site right now. You can join any conversation and reply yourself; the assistant stops answering that conversation and the visitor is told a person has joined. Hand it back and the assistant resumes.
### What languages does it speak?
It replies in the language the visitor writes in, grounded in whatever your pages say.
### Is my data safe?
Each business’s pages, conversations and settings are stored separately, and no query can reach across businesses. The token in your script tag can only start conversations and only works on your own domain. Arvin reads only what any visitor could read — pages behind a login are never fetched.
